No, you just proved that you have a wicked humor, and an imagination from some yet unnamed Brit-Rocker-Native dimension that hasn’t been milked to death. A little help with structure and the big themes, and you’re in show business. Whether it’s worth trading your soul is another question. We’re at the age where it’s a valiant struggle to not let our hearts get squished. Cheers.
What a lovely compliment, Bruce. Thank you. I've been writing a book about John's death, but wasn't sure that the wailing of his widow was good content, although I knew I wasn't alone in becoming so reluctantly acquainted with deep grief. You're a conscious writer...hey...ever thought of writing a screenplay? (-:
Written two screenplays, script doctored one, studied story structure with Robert McKee, written 200 industrial scripts, and a UCLA film grad. It sounds impressive, but I didn’t have access back then to the raw dark meat the powers the emotional arc of a story. ie I had a happy childhood. We should talk sometime. Friends with Lisa C for decades. We saw Barbie together!!
This is exactly why you should indeed write a screenplay. But please add Sally Field as Regan's grandmother, who tries to cuddle Regan. It does not go well.
Re: “That’s why I’m not a screenwriter.”

"Whether it’s worth trading your soul is another question." Isn't that always the question, from substance to story? Brilliant. x
PS: I read your raw writing about loss when I was fresh on the griddle. There is definitely a screenplay in your story.

Lisa is a singular soul. Love her. We should talk sometime. I could use your advice and I believe in paying artists for their time and expertise.

Okay, now that's a great idea! Then Sally Field becomes the flying possessed nun and campaigns for a Cat Union in the Deep South to great success.
But funny!
